Spotlight Sports Group Launches Dual Betting Products for 2026

Spotlight Sports Group, the organization known for its association with Racing Post, has launched two key products as part of its Racing Innovation strategy for 2026. On January 6, the global racing technology and media company introduced Smart View Tipping Feed and Racing Bet Builder to operators across several markets. This move is significant as it underscores the group’s commitment to enhancing its racing technology offerings in a year that marks Racing Post’s 40th anniversary. The releases aim to increase customer engagement by simplifying the betting experience through algorithm-driven tools.

The Smart View Tipping Feed delivers a continuous stream of betting selections around the clock, catering to markets in the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, South Africa, and the UAE, with plans to expand further. Each selection is linked to a specific betting angle, such as Naps or Data Aces, providing constant, high-quality content suitable for various platforms including sportsbook apps, CRM systems, and retail environments.

Racing Bet Builder, on the other hand, represents Spotlight’s inaugural same-race multiple product tailored specifically for horse racing. This tool offers intelligent Bet Builder selections for UK and Irish races where market conditions permit. The product focuses on crafting strong combinations across derivative markets like Winning Distance and Match Bets, supported by detailed insights and a Smart View market confidence rating. This ensures transparency and builds on the trusted expertise that Spotlight has cultivated over the years.

Both products are powered by the Smart View Engine, a system that processes numerous variables for each race participant. These include factors such as ability, trainer and jockey statistics, course and distance preferences, and other performance indicators. This technology is designed to simplify racing analysis, making it accessible to a wider audience while maintaining the precision that operators require.

Sam Houlding, the Managing Director of B2B at Spotlight Sports Group, stated that these products mark a significant evolution of the Smart View offering. He emphasized that the new tools provide operators with modern data-driven solutions, facilitating better engagement with racing audiences. While these releases are pivotal, Houlding hinted that they are only the beginning of a broader innovation plan for 2026.

The introduction of these products is timely as the racing industry continues to evolve with technological advancements. For operators, the ability to offer enhanced betting tools is crucial in attracting and retaining customers in an increasingly competitive market. However, there are challenges, such as ensuring compliance with regulatory standards across different jurisdictions and adapting to varying market conditions.

Critics might argue that while the technological advancements are significant, the complexity of integrating such sophisticated systems into existing operations can impose a burden on operators. Moreover, regulatory scrutiny can impact how quickly and effectively these innovations are adopted across different regions.

Spotlight Sports Group plans to present these products at the ICE Barcelona event from January 19 to 21. As the industry gathers for the event, stakeholders will likely be watching closely to see how these offerings are received and what further developments Spotlight has in store for the rest of the year. As the company continues to roll out its innovation roadmap, the market response will be critical in determining the long-term success of these initiatives.
