Novomatic and Ainsworth Introduce Slot Machines in Philippine Market

Austrian gaming company Novomatic AG, in collaboration with its Australian affiliate Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd, unveiled their latest slot machines at the Global Gaming Expo Asia held in Manila last December. This strategic move is significant as it aims to enhance the gaming offerings in Philippine casinos, responding to the demand for fresh content that attracts both local and international patrons.

Novomatic showcased its Xtension Link Evolution, which has recently received certification from Gaming Laboratories International for use in the Philippines. This game is housed in the company’s Diamond X 1.55J cabinet, notable for its 55-inch J-curve monitor and interactive touch-deck. The slot offers two distinct games, Mighty Squad and Fu Flow, each featuring a multi-denomination selection and utilizing a popular three-pot mechanic. According to Michael Barsin, Sales Manager, these games are designed to maintain player engagement through a combination of base game victories and feature wins in a 243-ways format. The installation of these machines in Philippine casinos is scheduled to commence in January 2026 with one of the leading operators, positioning Novomatic to gain early market traction as casinos update their gaming technology.

The company also introduced the Black Edition II XL 3.32 cabinet, part of its 837 series, aimed at the mid-range segment. This series includes models with varying screen sizes, offering flexibility to operators. Notably, the Novo Line Interactive Edition X4 package includes well-known titles such as Book of Ra and Lucky Lady’s Charm. The game’s Chicago title has garnered particular interest due to its popularity among Korean tourists, a significant demographic in Philippine casinos. The multi-game capability and the potential for integrating property-wide mystery jackpots provide operators with innovative ways to engage players without requiring extensive hardware upgrades.

Ainsworth presented its A-Star Raptor cabinet, featuring a 49-inch curved screen. This model is built to accommodate both Australian dual-screen and U.S. portrait content, aligning with diverse player preferences in the Philippines. The cabinet includes the San Fa series, which has seen success in multiple regions, including North America and Australia. This strategy of offering a blend of international games caters to local tastes, reinforcing the Raptor cabinet’s status as Ainsworth’s flagship product in this market.

The introduction of these machines is set against the backdrop of a competitive Philippine gaming environment, where new content is crucial for maintaining active casino floors and steady revenue streams. Both Novomatic and Ainsworth focus on features like multi-denomination games and mystery jackpots, ensuring their offerings remain relevant. The upcoming installations will provide a clear indication of how these machines resonate with players and stack up against competitors’ offerings.

As Novomatic and Ainsworth prepare for market integration, the industry’s response and the performance of these machines will be closely monitored in the coming months. This will determine future strategies and potential adjustments required to meet evolving consumer demands and keep pace with regulatory developments in the region.
